At first, it was endorsed by IESC Geekcorps Mali, an american NGO working on
After the departure of the moulin team from Geekcorps, it's members founded the Kunnafoni not-for-profit organization, now supporting both the software and the distribution (along with other projects).
Wikimedia by moulin has also received support from Internews Europe, a Paris-based NGO working on open-media and journalism.
Since Wikimania 2007, moulin and Kiwix are a joint effort to bring the best platform for offline Wiki distribution.
From its inception, moulin has always been an open project in which anyone can participate. Follow the Developer link if you are willing to contribute code or go browse the group for any other intervention. Note that some distribution-specific projects are runned by Kunnafoni.
